WTVT News Director John Hoffman Retires
WTVT vice president and news director John Hoffmann announced that he would retire in February 2025.
Hoffman has held the role at the Tampa, Florida-owned station since 2010.
“I have been fortunate to have a newsroom full of experienced professionals who care about the reputation of the station. Because I grew up at WTVT, I never felt like the boss, but more like a member of the team,” Hoffman said. “It created an atmosphere of collaboration and family. The Tampa Bay community is my home and this resort is my family. Together we have told stories that matter, made a difference and made meaningful connections with people. In retirement, I look forward to spending time with my real family, traveling, and spending time outside of the chair.
He has worked at the station since 1987. Hoffman was an intern at the station during his senior year of college at the University of South Florida.
