Mountain Dew returns to the Super Bowl for the seventh time
The PepsiCo Mountain Dew brand will return to the Super Bowl for the second year in a row.
The soft drink brand is no stranger to the Big Game, as this marks Mountain Dew’s seventh time as an advertiser.
While no details about the spot have been shared yet, the brand said in a statement that the upcoming campaign “will encourage friends to have a damn good time and enjoy a refreshing Mountain Dew while cheering on their favorite team during the football season.
Mountain Dew promises more details are coming in January 2025, along with a few “fun surprises.”
Last year, Mountain Dew’s Super Bowl commercial featured its Baja Blast drink, with a ad featuring Aubrey Plaza, always tongue-in-cheek trying to contain his enthusiasm for the product. The spot also featured Plaza’s Parks and Recreation co-star Nick Offerman as the two rode dragons and drank Mountain Dew.
Last year’s spot was created by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, and the agency will also lead this year’s creative.
Mountain Dew’s 2021 Super Bowl commercial challenged viewers to spot how many bottles of soda appeared in the spot. The answer, in case you were curious, was 243. The commercial, created by TBWA\Chiat\Day New York, featured Jon Cena driving a pink convertible down a city block transformed into a hallucinogenic amusement park on the watermelon theme.
