Leon Harris to step away from WRC anchor desk
WRC anchor Leon Harris will “step away” from the NBC-owned station’s anchor desk in Washington, D.C. after leaving the Thanksgiving newscast early.
There was speculation on social networks on why Harris left the 6 p.m. show. The station said he “appeared ill” before disappearing.
A quick eye check showed the station went into an extended commercial break around 6:07 p.m., then ended the newscast with a lengthy forecast from the meteorologist. Ryan Miller with what looked like a pre-recorded commercial segment.
“We’ve heard a lot from some of you by phone and email during this newscast,” Miller told viewers on-air. “We want to assure you that our colleague Leon Harris is doing well. news for the team appreciate your concern and we will see you back here at 7:30.

Last week, Leon appeared ill while anchoring News4 at 6 p.m. Leon will step away from the anchor desk to focus on health issues.
