Donald Trump accepts Fox Nation Award as Pete Hegseth nomination faces headwinds
Donald TrumpFox News Media’s love/hate relationship was all love Thursday night. The president-elect received the inaugural Patriot of the Year award at Fox Nation’s sixth annual Patriot Awards, held in Brookville, New York.
Chants of “United States!” “” echoed inside the Tilles Performing Arts Center as Trump took the stage and received the award from Trump. Sean Hannity, who also served as host of the evening.
In accepting the award, Trump directly acknowledged his friendship with Hannity, calling him a “friend of the country.” He also praised Fox News, saying, “You have incredible people at Fox. You have incredible people at every level at Fox.
The president-elect also discussed the hateful side of his relationship with the news network, noting that there were a few hosts that “I don’t like.” He then jokingly asked the crowd if he should name them.
A new presentation of the Patriot Awards, which honor veterans, first responders and other inspiring everyday heroes, December 8 at 10 p.m. ET on Fox News. Besides Trump, honorees included the late New York City police officer. Jonathan Dillerteen from Indiana Cameron Blasekactor and televangelist Kirk Cameronand retired general Dick Cody.

As his inauguration approaches, Trump’s relationship with Fox News appears to be growing even stronger. 12 former Fox personalities have been nominated for positions in his next administration.
One of these personalities, Pete Hegsethis currently facing a complicated confirmation process. Trump’s nominee for secretary of defense is at the center of several controversies involving allegations of poor financial management, sexual assaultAnd problems with alcohol. At least one senator, Joni Ernst from Iowa, indicated that she does not currently support Hegseth.
Trump endorsed his candidate in a social media post on Friday, calling him a “winner.” Hegseth acknowledged the support on X, formerly Twitter, writing: “Thank you, Mr. President. Like you, we will never go back.

Hegseth also has support from his former colleagues at Fox News. His morning co-host, Will Cainshared a social media post that included “official statements” from people who worked with him.

Meanwhile, the Fox & Friends co-hosts presented their own defense of Hegseth on Wednesday’s edition of the morning show. “Physically, Pete is cut from stone” Brian Kilmeade said. “The guy eats healthier, acts healthier, works harder and literally works on his ranch. He has a lifestyle that reflects his discipline.
the mother of Hegseth, Penelope Hegsethalso stopped by Fox & Friends on Wednesday publicly defend his son after she wrote an email in 2018 describing him as an “abuser of women.”
“I don’t believe any of this is true,” she stressed during her appearance. Hegseth is still meeting with Republican senators in Washington, D.C., to build support for his nomination.
