Dick’s Sporting Goods appoints David Young to lead its retail media business

Dick’s Sporting Goods has a new executive to lead its retail media network.

David Young has joined Dick’s as vice president to oversee the advertising business. The retailer launched its retail media network, Dick’s Media Networkin 2022.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in media and ad network management, most recently with online marketplace Shipt. As of 2021, he led Shipt’s advertising business, called Shipt Media.

Prior to Shipt, Young spent nearly two years as a senior director and digital marketing manager at a grocery company. Ahold Delhaizeoverseeing its digital media center of excellence.



He also held various consumer packaged goods roles at media agencies FCB Global, Manifest, SapientNitro, Publicis Groupe and TMP Directional Marketing.

Besides Young, Dick’s also hired Katie Hannify as vice president of media, overseeing media buying. Hannify reports to Chief Marketing Officer Emily Silver.

Hannify was previously head of media strategy and investments at PepsiCo, where she spent 18 years.
